Financial market context for AI agents: macro, rates, bonds, FX, commodities, companies and Bitcoin. PreReason serves AI agents and developers market briefings with the interpretation already done, through an MCP server and a REST API.
Each briefing carries the interpretation with its figures: trend direction (rising, falling or flat), 7d, 30d and 90d momentum, percentile rankings, cross asset correlations and regime classification, every figure dated and its sources named, in markdown or JSON.

Changes to the Free plan. From 1 October 2026, the Free plan allows up to 30 calls an hour and 100 a day, down from 60 and 500, and a free key reads the 17 Bitcoin metrics in full, with their trends, and the latest reading of every other metric. Free accounts that made a call in the week before keep their current limits and full metric access until further notice. Basic and Pro limits rise the same day, to 6,668 and 33,334 calls a day. On 2 October 2026 they were rounded up to 7,000 and 35,000 calls a day. Changelog
Yes. API keys are hashed before storage (we cannot see them). All traffic uses HTTPS encryption. We log API endpoints and response times for service improvement. Your IP is hashed for privacy and request content is never stored.
What happens if I hit the rate limit?
You will receive a 429 response with a Retry-After header indicating when you can make requests again. The free tier allows up to 100 calls a day, no more than 30 in an hour. Upgrade to Basic or Pro for higher limits.
How fresh is the data?
Bitcoin price updates every 2 minutes (Coinbase, with CoinGecko every half hour). On-chain metrics (hash rate, difficulty) update every 30 minutes. Macro data updates the same day each publisher releases it. Market data (ETF proxies) updates every 15 minutes during market hours.
What format does the API return?
Markdown by default. Each response includes pre-reasoned context with trend directions, confidence scores, and percentile ranks. JSON is also available via the format parameter.
How do AI agents connect to PreReason?
Two ways: MCP server (recommended) works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and any MCP-compatible agent. Or standard REST API with Bearer token auth.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes, cancel from your dashboard at any time. Monthly subscribers retain access until the end of their current month. No surprise charges or cancellation fees.
Do you offer refunds?
New annual subscribers can request a full refund within 14 days of their initial purchase. Beyond that, we do not offer refunds for partial billing periods or unused API calls.
What happens when I upgrade or downgrade?
Upgrades take effect immediately with prorated billing. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access until then.
Do you offer annual billing?
Yes. Save 20% with annual billing on both Basic and Pro plans.
